Human rights and humanitarian organizations do not always display overt bias; just as common, if not more, is their silence: their failure to acknowledge; to campaign for; to humanize. This Amnesty post on one year anniversary of Hamas' Oct 7 massacres is a case in point: it does not mention Hamas's massacre of some 1,400 Israelis and non-Israelis, the largest killing of Jews since the Holocaust. Nor does it mention the extreme sexual violence that Hamas perpetrated that day, or its taking of some 240 Israelis--including children--hostage into Gaza, where many remained at the time of the post.
