Internal staff channels are meant to be professional, respectful spaces. After Hamas' October 7 attacks, many became unmoderated arenas for harassment, antisemitism, and unchecked anti-Zionism—with leadership nowhere to be seen. Posts that violate policy remain in place, with often virulent antisemitism, anti-Israel and anti-Zionist posts considered acceptable, and not relevant to anti-hate and anti-harassment policies. MSF's "Our principles" states: MSF’s actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of independence and impartiality. The "General Conditions of Use and Legal Information" of the "Souk" - the internal communication portal of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) states: "Speech is free at MSF, but once it is open, your opinions must be owned and therefore signed off!! Any abusive, slanderous or libelous comments or personal attacks are forbidden and will be deleted. Should you encounter issues about the contents published by users, please use the reporting form, send an email to souk@msf.org and/or to the Souk editorial team by referring to the comment and explaining your concerns."
